This pattern is for a set of doily and coaster with a lovely poinsettia flower design, created using the tapestry crochet technique. This is a good project to practice this technique. The main difference of tapestry crochet from regular crochet, is that you will work with two or more colors of threads, working over the thread not in use, thereby creating a very neat and colorful crochet work.
This project can be made using size 8 or size 10 threads, or experiment with any threads from your stash.
Size: Doily measures approx. 6 3/4 inches in diameter.
Coaster measures approx. 4 inches in diameter.
Materials:
Cotton thread size 8 or size 10 (total of about 20 gms for doily), in red, green and gold and scrap of yellow.
Steel crochet hook size 1.5mm
